Educational Projects

Racon Engineering recently completed a project with the Toronto Catholic District School Board for classroom renovations of approximately 4,944 sq. ft with a new seminar/testing room complete with new computers, new Life Skills classroom, and barrier free washrooms.

A studio was converted into a classroom and existing classrooms were revised to new classrooms. The mechanical scope included new plumbing, sprinkler revisions, and modifications to the existing HVAC system. The electrical scope Included new power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and exit signage, revised fire alarm, revised security and CCTV, and some structured cabling design for new computers and wireless networking.

Racon was also involved with the contract administration during construction dealing with contractors, attended site meetings and performing inspections with reports provided.

Racon Engineering completed the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and contract administration services for a project with the University of Toronto involving renovations of a new 4,000 sq. ft Machine Lab for the Mechanical Engineering Department in the McLennan Building.

The Lab included new lighting, power for lab equipment, convenience receptacles, emergency power off systems, life safety systems and power for mechanical equipment. The Lab also included new air conditioning, ventilation, a dust collection system, compressed air distribution, processed water, drainage, sprinkler and a custom hydraulic lift.
